Agreement Signed for Construction of LPG-Based Crematorium for 33 Years
Koshi Zone: A significant step has been taken towards expanding modern civic facilities in Korlahi Ward No. 44 under the Municipal Corporation area. In addition to the existing electric and wood-based crematoriums, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed with Isha Foundation, Tamil Nadu, for the construction and maintenance of an LPG-based crematorium for a period of 33 years.
On this occasion, District Magistrate Deepesh Kumar, Municipal Commissioner Prabhat Kumar Jha, Sub-Divisional Officer (Sadar Saharsa) Shriyash Tiwari, representatives of Isha Foundation, Circle Officer Kahara, engineers from BUDCO, and other concerned officials were present.
Officials stated that the construction of the LPG-based crematorium will promote environmental conservation and significantly reduce pollution caused by traditional cremation methods. Additionally, it will make the cremation process simpler, faster, and more convenient.
The Municipal Corporation administration described this initiative as an important step towards urban development and cleanliness. With the implementation of this project, citizens will have access to improved facilities, and Saharsa will move one step closer to modern urban infrastructure.
