Attempted Assault After Spiking Juice; Woman Hospitalized

Koshi Zone: An incident involving an alleged attempt to assault a woman after administering an intoxicating substance has come to light in the Sadar area. The victim, Shabnam Kumari, a resident of Manikpur Ward No. 03 under Patarpat Police Station, stated in her police complaint that she works at Arogya Mandir Hospital in New Colony and had known a man named Rahul Kumar for the past three months.

According to the victim, on April 20, 2026, around 8:00 PM, while returning from work, Rahul called her on the pretext of getting a gas cylinder filled. On the way, he allegedly forced her to drink juice, after which she started feeling dizzy. It is alleged that Rahul then took her to his rented room and attempted to sexually assault her. When she resisted, he allegedly assaulted her physically as well.

Hearing her screams, nearby residents gathered at the spot, prompting the accused to open the door. The victim narrated the entire incident to the people present. As her condition worsened, she was admitted to Sadar Hospital, Saharsa, where she is currently undergoing treatment. Sadar Police Station in-charge Subodh Kumar stated that the police have initiated an investigation into the matter and are searching for the  accused.

शिक्षा विभाग के इंजीनियर पर 3.25 करोड़ की अवैध संपत्ति का मामला दर्ज ईओयू ने आय से 309.61 प्रतिशत अधिक संपत्ति का किया खुलासा  इंजीनियर प्रमोद कुमार की तलाश में जुटी आर्थिक अपराध इकाई शाखा कोशी जोन, सहरसा। बिहार पुलिस मुख्यालय की आर्थिक एवं साइबर अपराध इकाई (इओयू) ने भ्रष्टाचार के खिलाफ चलाए जा रहे विशेष अभियान के तहत एक बड़ी कार्रवाई करते हुए बिहार राज्य शैक्षिक आधारभूत संरचना विकास निगम (बीएसईआईडीसी) के कार्यपालक अभियंता प्रमोद कुमार पर आय से अधिक संपत्ति का गंभीर मामला दर्ज किया है। प्रमोद कुमार पर आय से 309.61 प्रतिशत अधिक कुल ₹3,25,09,930 की संपत्ति अवैध रूप से अर्जित करने का आरोप है। ईओयू थाना कांड संख्या-13/2025 के अंतर्गत भ्रष्टाचार निवारण अधिनियम की धारा 13(1)(बी) व 13(2) के तहत यह प्राथमिकी दर्ज की गई है। छापेमारी का नेतृत्व ईओयू के एसपी पंकज कुमार एवं डीएसपी सुनील कुमार द्वारा किया गया, जिसमें अन्य पुलिस अधिकारी और तकनीकी विशेषज्ञ भी शामिल थे। प्राथमिक जांच में यह पाया गया कि अभियुक्त द्वारा पिछले वर्षों में कई गुप्त स्रोतों से भारी मात्रा में संपत्ति अर्जित की गई है, अभ...
